Orchard Park, NY (WGR 550) - Even though Zay Jones is going to miss time with a sprained knee, he got some business out of the way on Thursday.

Buffalo’s second round pick signed his first NFL contract. Jones played his college ball at East Carolina and was the 37th overall selection.

Tyrod Taylor congratulated right after he was drafted with a text. Taylor said, “He’s a great player. I watched him compete against Virginia Tech for a couple of years and I actually sat down and watched all the receivers that came out this past year and I was excited about Zay.”

“I know he’s a very talented player, a natural ball catcher and I’m excited to work with him.”

Jones is in a group with Sammy Watkins, Andre Holmes, Walter Powell, Jeremy Butler, Dez Lewis, Brandon Tate and Philly Brown.
