Annen, 26, joined the Bills in December of 2015 when he was signed to the team's practice squad. Annen was placed on injured reserve before the start of the 2016 season when he suffered a neck injury during the final game of the preseason against the Detroit Lions.

Annen never played a regular season game with the Bills after spending some time with the Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers. He started his career as an undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati with the Eagles in 2014.
