(WGR 550) - Canada looked to be in great shape leading Switzerland 2-0 after just 6:28 of play. The Swiss pulled goalie Jonas Hiller, who had already faced 11 shots and didn’t seem to be at fault on either goal. Leonardo Genoni stopped all 32 shots he faced for the win.

The Sabres Ryan O’Reilly was Canada’s Player of the Game for the second straight game. He opened the scoring beating Hiller on his own rebound. O’Reilly has three goals and no assists in five games played. In this game, he played 17:29 and had five shots on goal.

Toronto’s Mitch Marner got the other Team Canada goal.

Fabrice Herzog got the overtime winner against Avalanche netminder Calvin Pickard. The goal was Herzog's second of the game.

The Canadians pick up one point and are still on top of Group B with 13 points. Switzerland is two points back while the Czech Republic trails by three.

In Group A, Russia shutout Slovakia 6-0. Victor Antipin was held off the scoresheet in 15:28 of work. Antipin has no goals and one assist in his five games.

Russia leads Group A with 14 points. That’s two better than the United States. Sweden is four behind Russia and two in back of Team USA.

Canada’s next game is Monday against Norway.
