While the Buffalo Sabres have yet to release their schedule for the 2017 preseason, they know who one of their early opponents will be.

The Carolina Hurricanes released their preseason schedule on Thursday and revealed that they will travel to Buffalo on Monday September 18th to take on the Sabres at the KeyBank Center at 7 p.m.

The Sabres faced the Hurricanes twice last year in the preseason, with one meeting coming from Marquette, Michigan as part of the Kraft Hockeyville celebration. This preseason, the Sabres and Hurricanes will only meet once in Buffalo.

It is not clear yet as to when the Sabres will release their preseason schedule, but it should come before the NHL releases the entire schedule some time during the week of the NHL Draft.

The Sabres will host two other games this preseason in Buffalo at the KeyBank Center.
