Teams competing in the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship in Buffalo later this month are beginning to reveal their preliminary rosters for the upcoming tournament.

Finland revealed their preliminary roster earlier Monday morning with Sabres prospect Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen being on the roster as one of three goaltenders in the fold.

The Czech Republic also unveiled their preliminary roster Monday morning with Sabres defenseman Vojtech Budik as part of their 27-man lineup.

Buffalo took Budik in the fifth round (130th overall) in the 2016 NHL Draft out of Prince Albert in the Western Hockey League. In 27 games this season, the 6' 1", 203-pound defenseman has one goal and five assists for the Raiders.

Budik is looking to make his second appearance at the World Juniors, playing in two games last year in Canada with the Czech Republic. In those two games, Budik was held pointless while playing as the team's extra defenseman.

The Czechs made it to the quarterfinal round in last year's tournament, competing in Group A with Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Switzerland. However, they were eliminated by Canada in a 5-3 loss at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

The roster will have to be cut down to 23 just before Christmas.
