Jack Eichel scored for the first time since October 21 and Sam Reinhart found the net for the first time since October 17, but the Sabres fell to the Penguins in overtime on Tuesday 5-4. See what Eichel, Reinhart and Robin Lehner told the media following the loss.

Jack Eichel

On the Sabres giving up the lead for good: "First two periods I thought we tried to take it to them. In the 3rd, we played scared to lose, not to win. They're a good hockey team. We got to do for 60 minutes. In the third period I thought we were just getting rid of pucks, weren't forechecking too well, letting them set their breakout up and they played the whole period in our zone. It's frustrating. We'll work on it.

On giving up the game-winning goal to Sheary: "I think it was just a switch and I didn't pick up Sheary quick enough. That's on me. He made a good play, made a nice pass there. I wasn't expecting it, I was trying to find my way to the front of the net. That's on me. Lenny stood on his head all night for us. that's a tough one."

On coming to Reinhart's defense after a big first-period hit: "Seemed like a pretty hard hit. Sam seemed pretty vulnerable. Think that's part of hockey, just gotta step up and send a message that we're not going to let our guys get liberties taken on them. You obvously don't want to see that."

Sam Reinhart

On the 3rd period effort: "We're playing against probably the best team in the world the last few years. We get the lead and we sit back too much. The more opportunities we give that team, they're going to score more times than not. It's a little frustrating."

On his offensive game picking up: "I don't think I've changed anything. Obviously there are some bounces that go the right way and it leads to a little bit of success. Hopefully that continues."

Robin Lehner

On letting the Penguins come back: "This one stings. I just wish we had played the whole 3rd period like we did after they scored the 4-4 goal. I think the first 11, 12, 13 minutes, I felt they were flicking pucks out in the neutral zone and letting them come back and back and back. We gotta learn from it."

On the Sabres having a lot of hockey left to play: "We're not going to give up. We know what spot we're in, but we also know that we win one, two, three, all of a sudden climb back up to .500, then you never know. We hve to take lessons out of this. There are some good teams coming up."
